Clan Scott Society
Purpose
-
To promote the general interest of the Society and to cultivate the
spirit of kinship, fellowship, and social intercourse among society members
throughout the United States and Canada and with those of Scott Family
of Scotland and their septs and descendents in Scotland and throughout the
world;
-
To inspire among members, descendents, and the general public the pride
and spirit of Scottish ancestry embodied in Scottish history and ideals,
to honor Scottish heritage, to preserve and perpetuate for the present
and future those customs and ethics of their forefathers, and all the traditions
of value, qualities and attitudes which have proved to be of sound social
benefit;

To collect and preserve literary, historical and genealogical records
and documents and relics relating to the history of the Clan Scott or to
Scotland;

To further the development and preservation of traditional music and
dance through the funding of scholarships; and
-
To foster better cooperation and understanding between the North American
continent and the Borders area of Scotland, the traditional homeland of
the Clan Scott.
